Spring has arrived in San Diego which means it’s time to roll out the new Spring/Summer trends. Fashion Valley Mall shared some amazing new looks from retailers like Boss Hugo Boss, White House Black Market, Scotch & Soda, Anthropologie, Halston Heritage, AllSaints, Ted Baker London, Joe’s Jeans, & Macy’s. If that lineup doesn’t get you excited, you need to check your pulse! One of my favorite trends is the boho vibe including platform shoes, flowing maxi dresses, and fringe covered coats and bags. If only my mom had kept her clothes from her teenage years! I’d be right on trend!

#FWSD15: Fashion Week San Diego Spring Showcase
There really is nothing better to get you pumped about new up and coming designers then a teaser runway show. At Fashion Week San Diego‘s Spring Showcase, they let us take a sneak peek of the featured designers set for the main event next October. Each designer selected only one look to send down the runway. This year might be the most sensational yet! Just look at some of these pics I took from the show! I’m super excited about the move to La Jolla as well. It’s literally shutting down a full street for the show! Incredible.
Pre-Sale tickets are available online now but are going fast. I have my tickets, do you have yours?! Click here to purchase. See you there!
You Win… This Time
Ok, Take One Pass It On Challenge. You win… this time. It was totally a terrible idea for me to take on the burden of the Take One Pass It On Challenge knowing I had family coming for 10 days and was starting a new job. Oops! So I didn’t really get enough outfits into the challenge to really consider myself a winner. Here’s my remix round up of what I did get accomplished. Next time though… I’ll be more prepared to take this challenge by the horns! Promise!
What a Year!!
I love New Year’s Eve. It gives you a defined point to start fresh, make new goals for yourself, and grow. It also gives you a chance to reflect on the past 12 months. It’s so easy for me to get caught up in the here and now and forget where I’ve been. I’m always really surprised how much I got accomplished, all the amazing people I’ve met, and all the fun places we’ve visited in just 1 year. Starting this blog in June was one of the best moves I’ve made recently. It’s opened my eyes to a whole new world of possibilities and is just a blast for me to work on. Thank you so much for helping me to grow my blog over the last 6 months. Here’s a collection of some of my favorite photos of looks/travels from 2013 (You can click on the image to view the original post). Cheers to a brand new year! Let’s make it the best one yet!!
One Dress: Day to Night
It’s the time of year when there are holiday parties, family dinners, drinks with friends, etc etc basically every day until New Year’s Day. If I were to buy a new look for all of these festive occasions, everyone would get coal under the tree only because it’s cheap and I’m sure they were bad at some point this year. The remedy for this holiday party conundrum? Finding a dress you can tweak to wear in many different scenarios (this is when a NOT boring LBD comes in handy). This dress from House of Eleven is a perfect blend of sexy and conservative. It hugs your curves while allowing a long enough hem line that your boss won’t freak. Here’s how I’d wear this dress to the office then out for the night with my friends.
DAY LOOK: Wearing the dress with a white blouse underneath makes it much more work appropriate. I kept accessories simple with just a big ring, simple necklace, and sparkly studs.

NIGHT LOOK: A fun night look is all about accessorizing a great dress with statement pieces. I took two chunky necklaces and layered them. I mean, they’re great on their own so isn’t it even more fantastic to wear them together?! Add a fun clutch and some booties and you’re ready for that holiday party!

Jackets with contrasting sleeves are simply everywhere right now. They make every outfit look like you’re an expert at that ever so chic winter layers look. I paired this fun denim and terry cloth Gilt.com find with a few more layers. There’s a simple white tank and a thunderbolt tunic under there too! I can’t help but reiterate my love of vintage here (again… sorry!) by topping off this look with a pair of beat up vintage Coach boots. They’re so deliciously soft now that I’ll wear these babies until they fall apart!

Heels2Heal Miracle Babies Luncheon
There’s nothing I love more than combining fashion and charity. So it was a no-brainer to attend the Heels2Heal Fashion Show & Luncheon. Heels2Heal is a great charitable organization that hosts fashion related events throughout Orange County and San Diego in order to raise donations for Miracle Babies. Miracle Babies helps to support those families with critically ill newborns in the Intensive Care Unit. This event was held at the Sea & Smoke Restaurant in Del Mar, CA. We sat outside and enjoyed the fashion show of Flower Hill Promenade retailers in 80 degree November weather. Only in San Diego!
I was really impressed with the styling for the fashion show. I didn’t realize how many great retailers there are in that location! All the beautiful models were decked out in some amazing fall fashion looks. Here are some shots of my favorite outfits.

Hippy Chic Birthday Brunch
My friend recently had a Hippy Chic themed birthday brunch in Ocean Beach. Why don’t we do themed birthday parties anymore?! It was really fun to get dressed up with a specific idea in mind. The birthday girl even made us all flower headbands to wear at brunch. Let’s bring back themed parties!! This is my take on a modern hippy look.

Fashion Week San Diego: Day 1
Fashion Week San Diego is finally here! After watching weeks of fantastic fashion activity from around the world, it’s our turn to have some fashion fun! Night 1 kicked off with the Art & Beauty Behind Fashion event. We got to listen to industry experts about upcoming trends for Fall 2013 and Spring 2014. We also got some amazing tips to recreate some of the hair looks we saw on the runway into wearable everyday looks. One of the panelists, Dean Hall of HALL & SAKS, even gave me a shout out because of my super loud McQ Alexander McQueen dress! If you ever wanted to see me blush to a deep shade of red, that was your moment!
One of my favorite discussions was about upcoming nail trends. I love nail trends so for me it was really exciting! The co-founder of CND, Jan Nordstrom Arnold, gave us some really great inspirations for the coming months. I’ll share more of her tips in another post. Stay tuned!
Fashion shows will take over for the next 3 nights and I couldn’t be more excited. It’s so inspiring to see the designers’ imaginations come to life. I’ll be taking photos and posting them on my social media and on the blog so make sure you’re following me for the most up-to-date news! Here are some night 1 highlights.

Breaking out the Boots
Boots!! I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am about being able to wear my boots again. They make me feel pulled together even when I’m just wearing jeans and a tank. These ones from Stuart Weitzman work with basically everything and have a thin enough calf that I can’t wear them on their own. Three cheers for no slouching!
