LookBook: The Blue Platform

c24Sometimes a shoe comes into your life and sweeps you away.  We had actually used these babies recently in a Nordstrom Fashion Show I worked and I couldn’t leave without them.  They’re definitely a show stopper!  Not to mention platforms are so in right now.  This skirt is actually shorts with heavy pleating on the front to give the illusion of a skirt.  I would never be comfortable in an actual skirt that short!  One gust of wind and you guys would all be getting a show!  No, Thank You!

#OOTD: My New ‘Do

DSCN0130Recently, I went to see my new hair artist (because that’s the only way to describe her hair cutting skills) Candice from Goldline Salon in South Park, San Diego.  I wanted to mix things up but not go toooooo awfully crazy.  I’m ecstatic with the results!  It frames my face exactly the way I was hoping!  I think my hair is now a perfect accessory for my summer look.

High waisted flowy shorts are a perfect piece for any summer style (also worn before as a transitional piece).  Of course, I love to have some sort of sassy accessory, done here with a fun little toucan purse.  My favorite part about it is that its beak is the handle!  How hilarious is that?!  You just can’t help but get comments about it!DSCN0126DSCN0134DSCN0120DSCN0127DSCN0124DSCN0131

How to Wear a Statement Necklace

DSC_0239One thing I love about summer is it really motivates me to get out and explore my own city.  It’s silly how often we just go to the places we know and love without checking out what else is available!  One weekend a bit ago, we went for a nice drive around the Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach, and Bird Rock area.  We so wanted to go to Belmont Park but gave up after driving around a few square blocks for a half hour and unsuccessfully finding parking.  It was one of the first weekends of summer so I guess I can’t be too annoyed.

We ended up in the gorgeous Bird Rock area for brunch and a little beach exploring.  These photos were taken along the cliffs just between Bird Rock and La Jolla.  It’s definitely a great place to pack a picnic and chill to the sound of the waves.

I wore this amazing statement necklace that Tyler brought home for me after a trip with his family.  He picked it out all by himself!  Aren’t you impressed?!  I sure am.  It’s so perfectly me!  I don’t believe you have to wear statement necklaces against boring neutral palettes so I picked out a shirt that was full of similar colors instead.
