Styling for the Teen Vogue Back to School Saturday Event

Styling at Swarovski

One of my many hats is working as a stylist for fashion shows and events with Bad Madge & Company.  For the last two days, I’ve had a blast pulling all kinds of amazing looks for both boys and girls at the Otay Ranch Town Center for the Teen Vogue Back to School Saturday event.  The lovely retailers were kind enough to loan us their merchandise for use in the show.  It’s hard to focus when you’re working with such great clients and not simply start shopping for yourself!  We pulled at H&M, Swarovski, Francesca’s, Macy’s, ANGL, Banana Republic, and more!  Can you believe I made it out of there only buying a dress from H&M?!  I’m very proud of myself!

It all happens this Saturday, August 10, from 12-4pm.  There will be block modeling, music, giveaways, and special in-store offers.  Hope to see you all there!  Here’s a few sneak peek photos of the behind the scenes action for this event!

Beautiful La Jolla, CA

Friendship at La Jolla

Happiness is when a good friend moves closer to you.  And I’m excited to help her move to San Diego faster!  We went to La Jolla to check out a few places and took in all the Village area has to offer.  It’s a beautiful area for tourists and locals alike and was love at first sight for my friend.  Take a look at some of these pictures and you’ll find out why!!

Book Review: This Little Piggy Went to Prada

Picture 1

This little book of nursery rhymes with a designer name twist are about as silly as they come… in a good way!  It’s perfect for those fashionistas with little fashionistas in training for a fun bedtime alternative.  The book does have the original nursery rhymes in the back too.  It’s nice because it had really been awhile since I last heard them so some of the “Prada” ones I was a tad confused at first!  The watercolor art in the book is also really beautiful and quite fun.  In honor of all these delicious rhymes… I’ve written a haiku for you! Hey, that rhymed!

I needed a new pair of shoes

So, of course, I needed those Choos

Behind the Scenes at the San Diego Zoo

Keds on rail

It was my birthday a few days ago and my mom came down to celebrate with me.  We decided to go to the San Diego Zoo for happy hour but would wander around and check out the animals first.  I’m a total softy for animals!  As I’m lacing up my trusty Keds for Kate Spade New York, my boyfriend surprised us with backstage passes!  I turned into a little giggling 5 year old… I was so excited!

The backstage pass tour is so much more than I could have ever expected!  We got to see a cheetah (with her bff a dog!), a serval, a bearcat, an African bird that I’m blanking on the name of, and an Arctic Wolf (that howled for us!).  On top of all that goodness, we got to feed and pet a rhino!!  Oh and of course I can’t forget to mention playing beer pong with the flamingos!!  Just kidding… we were just feeding them but it looked like beer pong with all the red Solo cups (heehee)!  I was walking around that place with a perma-grin after all that animal interaction!  I highly recommend splurging on the backstage pass if you’re at the San Diego Zoo.  It was worth it!!  Check out a few photos from our adventure below… can you tell I had a great time?!

P.S. – I’m still giggling as I write this!
