Just Add a Hat!

One of my fashion philosophies is “When in doubt, add a hat.”  When I’m dressing casual, I feel like a great hat pulls my look together.  You could wear a plain white T and jeans with a great hat and Voila!  Instant style!  This Brixton hat is my latest go to and I love it!  I kind of feel the same way about booties too.  They works with everything from skirts to jeans and are so on trend.  These ones I think I paid like $8 for on Amazon 2 or 3 years ago.  I’m such a deal hunter, paying full price actually hurts me!  Keep searching and no doubt you’ll find some really great cheapies out there!

Happy First Day of Fall!

 

It’s officially the first day of fall!!  Yes!!  While I wait for it to cool down to full on fall weather, I’ll be slowly transitioning in my cold weather wardrobe.  To do that, I’ll be wearing things like a sweater and shorts (today!), knee high boots and a tank, etc.  You’ll see!  I’m just happy it’s FALL!!!

Birthday on the Beach: Coronado, CA

I’m getting to the age now that most of my friends are getting married and having kids.  So what that means is there are a lot of fun times to be had celebrating these life events!  Today, we celebrated our good friend’s daughter’s third birthday on the beach in Coronado.  It’s a gorgeous day for some fun in the sun: we splashed in the water, played with bubbles, and enjoyed some yummy cupcakes.

The water was too cold for my liking so I stuck to the shore in some bermuda shorts, a bandeau top, and a cover up.  Of course, I needed my trusty UPF 50+ protection hat to shield my face.  I want to look 25 when I’m 50 after all!!  Who doesn’t?!  This Wildfox coverup is one of my favorites!  It’s perfect for walking around a beach town or over your swimsuit.  I topped off my look with a chunky ocean inspired necklace (I’ve worn it before, remember?).

Styling for the Teen Vogue Back to School Saturday Event

One of my many hats is working as a stylist for fashion shows and events with Bad Madge & Company.  For the last two days, I’ve had a blast pulling all kinds of amazing looks for both boys and girls at the Otay Ranch Town Center for the Teen Vogue Back to School Saturday event.  The lovely retailers were kind enough to loan us their merchandise for use in the show.  It’s hard to focus when you’re working with such great clients and not simply start shopping for yourself!  We pulled at H&M, Swarovski, Francesca’s, Macy’s, ANGL, Banana Republic, and more!  Can you believe I made it out of there only buying a dress from H&M?!  I’m very proud of myself!

It all happens this Saturday, August 10, from 12-4pm.  There will be block modeling, music, giveaways, and special in-store offers.  Hope to see you all there!  Here’s a few sneak peek photos of the behind the scenes action for this event!
