Definitely one of my favorite jobs is when I get to assist with styling runway shows.  These photos are from the Beauty Trend Show at Nordstrom Fashion Valley.  This event is particularly fun because we get to go a little wild with print on print action and lots of bold colors.  The hardest part of the job is trying to not come home with every single thing (and the 6am call time)!  I’ve provided links for some of the items under the photos for your shopping pleasure!

Nordstrom Designer Preview

OMG.  The Nordstrom Designer Preview is my absolute favorite show I get to help put on every year.  Who wouldn’t want to touch all these beautiful art-like pieces of designer clothing… and get paid for it?!  Even more so, it’s inspiration for my real life looks for the coming season.  Here are my favorite outfits from the event.  P.S. – My birthday is coming up if anyone is looking for ideas. *wink wink*

 

 

 

 

Behind the Scenes: Spring Designer Preview

One of my many hats is to work behind the scenes ever so often at Nordstrom fashion shows in San Diego.  It’s so much fun to touch all these amazing swoon-worthy designer clothes that are outside my budget.  Not to mention, the models make everything look like perfection!  Frankly, it’s not fair.  Being behind the scenes can be a lot of work but it’s a lot of fun too.  Here are shots of some of my favorite looks backstage.

Lust List: SJP’s Shoe Line Debuts February 28th

I’m pretty sure I could sit and watch Sex & the City reruns for months straight and live a very content life.  So when Sarah Jessica Parker announced that she’d be collaborating on a new shoe line with Manolo Blahnik, I gasped with shoe obsessed delight.  Affordable high-end Italian-made shoes with Carrie Bradshaw influence?!  Wish list officially updated.  The collection features tons of color in wearable designs that put a emphasis on comfort.  As if we weren’t sold before but now they’re comfortable?  Dreams really do come true!

The collection debuts exclusively at Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com at Midnight on February 28th.  SJP herself will even be visiting a handful of locations for the debut!  For more information on location availability and about the collection, click here.  Ok, let’s be honest.  Who has their alarm set?

Monday Must-Have Lust List

1) INTARSIA SWEATERS

I love sweaters.  Period.  Do I really need to say more?  This year, the trend is heading towards intarsia sweaters.  All that means is a picture is knitted into the sweater rather than embroidered or ironed onto it.  It’s so much fun!!  You can basically pick anything that makes to happy for this trend.  I tend to be partial to sky prints, animals, and faces.  Here are a few of the ones I’m currently lusting over.  (Click the image for details)

     

 

2)  CND SOLAR SPEED SPRAY

CND’s Solar Spreed Spray has been my at-home mani savior!  I had this used once during a professional manicure to help set my polish and I knew I had to have it!!  Not only does it have a delicious almond smell, it instantly dries my polish and lets me go about my day!  No longer do we have to sit for an hour to let our polish dry!  Let’s rejoice!!

 

3)  JO MALONE PEONY & BLUSH SUEDE COLOGNE

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but I’m a huge Jo Malone fan.  So I’m anxiously excited to try the latest from the Jo Malone collection: Peony & Blush Suede.  It’s described as luxurious and seductive… does it get much better than that?!

4)  THE RETURN OF REVOLUTION

It’s hard to imagine living in a world without power.  Life as we know it would change forever.  That’s exactly what happened on NBC’s Revolution.  I absolutely love this show for the action, suspense, and strong women fighting for what they believe in.  It’s back this Wednesday, September 25th for Season 2.  (Check your local listing for times)

5)  LONELY PLANET TRAVEL BOOKS  

I’m one of those people that buys a travel book every time I go anywhere.  I like to have all the tips and tricks right at my finger tips.  And they really help to figure out what I want to do while I’m on my trip.  There’s always something in there I wouldn’t have thought about myself.  I’ve found Lonely Planet does the best job covering everything.  I just ordered a new one for an upcoming trip but that’s a secret!!  🙂  You’re welcome to guess where to if you like though!

Happy First Day of Fall!

 

It’s officially the first day of fall!!  Yes!!  While I wait for it to cool down to full on fall weather, I’ll be slowly transitioning in my cold weather wardrobe.  To do that, I’ll be wearing things like a sweater and shorts (today!), knee high boots and a tank, etc.  You’ll see!  I’m just happy it’s FALL!!!
