Definitely one of my favorite jobs is when I get to assist with styling runway shows.  These photos are from the Beauty Trend Show at Nordstrom Fashion Valley.  This event is particularly fun because we get to go a little wild with print on print action and lots of bold colors.  The hardest part of the job is trying to not come home with every single thing (and the 6am call time)!  I’ve provided links for some of the items under the photos for your shopping pleasure!

Brand Alert: United Nude

Sandra Shoes

United Nude is by no means new but it was recently brought to my attention by my fashion loving doppelganger (really, I’m her doppelganger), Sandra Espinet.  I’ve mentioned her before because of her fantastic taste in shoes (and let’s be honest here… her taste in everything style!) but I’m so excited about United Nude.  These shoes are art people.  I mean, look at these babies!  And get this… Sandra says she wore these all over a furniture show in North Carolina, did a speech, then continued on to an Architectural Digest party and was COMFORTABLE!  Just add in how amazingly unique this line of shoes is and I’m now officially swooning.  Anything from this brand is on my Christmas wish list for sure.  *hint hint*

Monday Must-Have Lust List: Isabel Marant for H&M Edition

Every once in awhile, something is so exciting that it trumps all other news.  That’s how I feel about the Isabel Marant for H&M collection and why it gets its own feature for my weekly Lust List.  I feel like all these designer/big name retailer collaborations is really exciting.  The quality seems like it’s just getting better and better.  Remember the Alexander McQueen for Target years ago?  It was like Target got the cheapest material ever for the designs and I didn’t end up keeping a single item!!  I want that collab to be redone now that it’s becoming such a common thing and quality is taken more into consideration.  The Isabel Marant for H&M designs are so perfectly executed that you’d be hard pressed to find something bad about the pieces.  They scream “designer” without that hefty price tag.  My alarm is set to be online at promptly 9AM (PST) on November 14th to hopefully swoop up a few swoon-worthy pieces from this highly anticipated collection.  If you’re near a physical store, the doors open at 8AM (Local Time) for your shopping fun.  If you are lucky enough to get your hands on any of this collection, Tweet me your score @WanderingHeels.  I want to share in your shopping glory!

This is not a sponsored post.  I’m just genuinely excited for this collaboration!

Monday Must-Have Lust List

While we are still on our Hawaiian adventure, here are a few things that have made the island inspired lust list…

1) Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen

For as pale as I am, it’s a miracle I’m not burned to a crisp.  I always rely on Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen for basically all my sunscreen needs.  I haven’t gotten burned even a teeny tiny bit!!  I’m knocking on wood as I write this though… just in case!

2) Anti-itch Cream

So I haven’t been sun burned but I’ve gotten so many mosquito bites I’m worried people will think I’ve contracted leprosy.  Seriously, I have 22 bites and counting.  It doesn’t help that I have basically no self control when it comes to itching them.  Luckily my friend had brought some anti-itch cream that has become my favorite thing on the whole planet.

3) Sun Hats

I love me a good sun hat.  Basically I love all hats but right now I’m specifically in need of some sun shade.  My favorite, that I’ve mentioned in some previous posts, is my Eric Javis Squishee IV Wide Brim Hat.  It has UPF 50+ which means my scalp will remain unburned!  A double bonus is it packs really well.  You can simply roll it up and throw it in your suitcase.  I usually wear mine to the airport but that’s mostly because I’ve run out of room to pack it!

4) Homeaway.com

Both the homes we have been staying at on Oahu and the Big Island we found through Homeaway.com.  Both of them have been really incredible.  I totally prefer to stay in a rental home compared to a stuffy overcrowded resort.  Not to mention with 2 or 3 couples, it ends up being a huge savings to rent 1 house over separate rooms.  I’ll do reviews of our specific places soon!

5) Sparkly Debra Lippmann Nail Polish

I know it’s basically all about fall nails now but I’m stretching out some summery nails through the rest of my Hawaiian trip.  I packed some fun sparkly Debra Lippmann polish in ocean and sunset shades.  Right now I’m wearing the Mermaid’s Eyes color so I’d feel like a mermaid while I was snorkeling and swimming in the lagoon.  It only seems appropriate!

1)  SOPHIA WEBSTER FOR J.CREW COLLECTION

Anybody that even kind of knows me knows that I have a teeny tiny (ok, HUGE!) obsession with shoes.  Like, it’s unhealthy.  So when I got wind of the Sophia Webster for J.Crew collection, I nearly had a shoe induced heart attack!  The only problem with the unveiling at NYFW is that I have to wait until Spring 2014 to get my hands on them!  The torture!!

2) THE HOME. T

I love when fashion and charity collide.  It’s impossible to have buyer’s remorse when you know your purchase is doing some good!  The Home T-shirt is a great way to do good AND be fashionable… basically the best combo ever, right?  For every purchase, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to multiple sclerosis research.  Now show your state some love!

3) OVERALLS!!

You read that right!  On this week’s Lust List is Overalls!  Remember those pants with a bib look you probably rocked in the 90s?  They’re baaaaaack!  So turn up some Nirvana and slip into some overalls, right now!  Make them a little more modern by trying them in leather (or faux!) or a dark wash denim.  I like these and these.

4) KATE SPADE SPRING 2014 COLLECTION

I have spot reserved in my heart just for Kate Spade.  The colorful girlyness is basically me spot on.  I feel like they are reaching into my brain and making clothes specifically for me and my style.  This season was no exception!  Inspired by traveling through Europe, this collection is fun, flirty, and totally wearable!  Is it Spring 2014, yet?

This is one of my favorite looks from the collection…

5) THE WORLD ACCORDING TO KARL BOOK RELEASE

The World According to KarlThe illusive and always sunglass clad Chanel designer, Karl Lagerfeld, is now sharing some words of wisdom with us underlings in his new book The World According to Karl.  His notorious wit (in both the good and shocking spectrum) are synonymous with the man’s impeccable style.  I’m looking forward to this collection of word gems.  Here’s a small sampling of Karl Quotes: “Think pink. But don’t wear it.” “I like everything to be washable.  Including myself.” “I only know how to play one role: me.”  Releases September 17, 2013.

Happy Reading!
